PE & Sports Premium 2015 - 2016

Background to the Primary School Sports Funding premium

The PE and Sport Premium is designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities we offer pupils.

The Government has invested over £450 million on the PE and Sport Premium funding over the 3 academic years 2013 to 2014, 2014 to 2015 and 2015 to 2016.

Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer.

Sports Funding Expenditure 2015-2016

We have used the PE and Sport Premium to;

  • develop and add to the PE and sport activities that our school already offers.
  • make improvements now that will benefit pupils joining the school in future years.

For example, we have used the funding to;

  • hire qualified sports specialists to work with teachers
  • provide existing staff with training and resources to help them teach PE and sport for effectively
  • introduce new sports or activities and encourage more pupils to take up sport
  • support and involve the least active children by running or extending school sports clubs
  • run inter sport competitions
  • attend inter school competitions
